Railway

A network of passenger and freight rail service allow the abundant natural resources to move freely to the harbors' shipping facilities. Many natural resources, including iron ore, coal, copper, nickel and titanium, are available in abundance in this area and move easily to its destination. More resources flow into the area from the north via this railway system.

Yara Project - $500 million being invested in the creation of an opencast apatite mine

Cliffs Wabush Mines - 4 to 6 million tons of iron pellets per year.

Hydro Québec Power Lines - 7.3 million horsepower (5 400 Megawatts).

Three major hydroelectric developments in proximity of Sept-Iles ensure a reliable source of potential power for even the most ambitious industries. 7.3 million horse power of HydroElectric Energy passes within a few miles of 5,000 acres, creating one of the largest, lowest cost electric energy producing areas in the world. It is thanks to the readily available electricity that the construction of an aluminum smelter, Aluminerie Alouette - one of the top preforming aluminum plants in the world, was made possible.

Consolidated Thompson - Now expanding to 16 million tons of iron ore.

Harbor - Now being expanded to handle boats of 300-400 thousand tons in size.

Aluminerie Alouette - 600,000 tons of aluminium annually.

Rio Tinto -Ioc - Shipping 18 million tons of iron pellets.

Sept-Îles Airport - Can accommodate up to 1 million passengers annually.

Sept-Îles Airport is one of the largest in Québec. It serves Labrador and Northern Québec, and the entire North Shore and Southern Quebec.
