Three major hydroelectric developments in proximity of Sept-Iles ensure a reliable source of potential power for even the most ambitious industries. 7.3 million horse power of HydroElectric Energy passes within a few miles of 5,000 acres, creating one of the largest, lowest cost electric energy producing areas in the world. It is thanks to the readily available electricity that the construction of an aluminum smelter, Aluminerie Alouette - one of the top preforming aluminum plants in the world, was made possible.
